Blimp City Moon RideBlimp City Moon Ride

Moon Rides begin in front of Blimp City Bike & Hike promptly at 8 p.m., so please plan to arrive by 7:45 p.m They are free rides for cyclists of any experience or age. Riders are required to have a helmet and both front and back light system for their bikes. These rides are weather dependant so please feel free to give us a call if you are unsure if the ride is taking place.

Headwaters Adventure RaceHeadwaters Adventure Race

Time: 8:00 am

Run, Pedal and Paddle to support trails and conservation! Presented by the Portage Park District Foundation, the Headwaters Adventure Race is a fun event that starts and ends at Buchert Park in Mantua Village and features a 2-mile run on the Headwaters Trail, a 10-mile bike ride along scenic rural roads to Camp Hi Canoe Livery in Hiram, and ending with a 5-mile paddle on the Upper Cuyahoga Scenic River. Racers can go solo or as part of a 2-person relay or all-phase team. Race fees are $40/person ($25 for 18 and under) and include a T-shirt and post-race refreshments. Limited boat rentals are available; kayaks for $10, canoes for $15. Buy a raffle ticket for $5.00 for a chance to win a $400 gift certificate for a new bike, service or accessories at the Portage Cyclery, in Ravenna http://www.portagecyclery.com Awards will be given to the top 3 relay and all-phase teams, the top 3 male and female solo racers and first place in each age category. Stay for the day and enjoy Mantua’s “Art on the Hill” with dozens of arts and crafts booths, food and music. Bike to the Akron Aeros Game! Bike to the Akron Aeros Game!

Time: 11:45 am

Bike along the Towpath and parade right onto the field before the game starts! After the parade, the bikes will be kept safe in the guarded plaza area of the stadium while you sit back and enjoy the game. The game starts at 1:05 p.m. Meet at the Richard Howe House (47 W. Exchange St., Akron) at 11:45 a.m. where we will then bike over to the stadium together for the parade. Tickets are only $9 and we will be selling them until Thursday, July 12th. Bring the whole family out for a fun-filled afternoon at the Sunday FUNday Akron Aeros game! There will be a pregame catch on the field, a kids stampede at the bottom of the 5th inning, and when the game is over, the kids can run the bases. If you purchase tickets with us before Thursday, July 5th, you will receive 2 FREE tickets to the Arlo Guthrie concert on Saturday, July 7th! If you do wish to receive the concert tickets, please note that you will need to pick them up at the Richard Howe House no later than Thursday, July 5th by noon.
