Freedom Trail

This trail extends from the Towpath Trail in Akron to The Portage Hike and Bike Trail in Portage County.  The portion of the trail within Tallmadge extends for 2.9 miles beginning at Southwest Avenue to North Munroe Road and runs parallel to a former Conrail railroad line.  Future expansion plans may lead to trail connections to existing trails at Munroe Falls and Kent.  This is a shared-use trail for cyclists and pedestrians.  Portions of this trail are paved with asphalt and others are paved with crushed stone.
